The Kimmidoll legend
Kimmidolls are a modern interpretation of an old Japanese tradition, the Kokeshi dolls which emerged in the 19th century during the Edo period.
True to their origins, each Kimmidoll represents a major life principle and conveys the values associated with this such as love, generosity and wisdom.
They were originally sculpted from leftover wood and sold as souvenirs in the hot springs region or just given away as a pledge of friendship.
Legend has it that Kokeshis are inhabited by the spirits of the ancestors.
When released, a Zen spirit is said to protect the heart and household of whoever receives it..
